Dr. Yann Brierley has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Doctor of the Year award, following his nomination by Dr. Kira McClellan, 2024 recipient. The award was bestowed upon Dr. Brierley at the April 12, 2025, SNO Division of FP and VJH Medical Staff Association’s Monte Carlo Casino Evening Gala.
Dr. McClellan highlighted Dr. Brierley’s exceptional dedication to the healthcare system, noting his willingness to go above and beyond what is typically expected. One notable example of his commitment was when he voluntarily came in on a Sunday to draw blood from patients due to a shortage of lab technicians. Additionally, Dr. Brierley has invested significant time and personal effort in improving workplace culture through initiatives such as “Civility Matters.”
Dr. Brierley has also embraced his new role as VJH Chief of Staff with enthusiasm and gusto, demonstrating genuine investment in physician advocacy, staff advocacy, and ensuring a smooth healthcare system. Despite the demanding responsibilities of his profession, he successfully balances his daily duties as a pathologist and father. Dr. Brierley’s continuing contributions have made a profound impact on the healthcare community, earning him this well-deserved recognition.
