A Gathering Place for Physicians:
Why Waffle House
Waffle House Diner was created by two neighbours in Avondale Estates, Georgia in 1955. Their vision was to create a place where families, friends and neighbours could sit and talk over simple food at any hour of the day or night. With the concept proving successful, there are now more than 1900 Waffle House locations across the United States and Canada.
Fast forward to today. The Physician Waffle House is an online gathering place to connect socially and professionally with your peers. Created by and for physicians, it is a place to come together to think, talk, plan, learn, share ideas, solve problems, and support one another.
FUN FACT: In April 2023, the Jonas Brothers released their hit single Waffle House. The Jonas Brothers were in their teens when they started performing professionally. Following their concerts, the band and crew headed to the nearest bar to decompress while the underage stars grabbed a bite at Waffle House.
“Growing up, we would go to Waffle House after shows and it became our sanctuary. It was the place we dreamt up ideas, the place where we worked through our problems together, and the place where we finally realized we could find our way through anything as long as we came together. Waffle House was born from a simple but powerful idea: When you sit down with the people that matter most, anything is possible. This song isn’t about a restaurant. It’s about coming together with the people you love and making your dreams come true.’”
